Player Plot: Dust in the Wind

Dust in the Wind

So your residential chipper, tea girl is a ghost, something Annie isn't shy about. There's a few important canon things that that means for her. One of them is that in order to be 'grounded' anywhere, Annie needs to feel belonged, that she has a purpose. So I was thinking about that since Mitchell, one of her main reasons for really doing anything in game, has left. And while she's still smiling and being her normal perky self, there's definitely a loneliness there.

So here's the plot:

Annie is going to buy a shrine or something from the merchants that basically amplifies what she's feeling to the point that her ghost trait of starting to fade will not only happen to her, but anyone also feeling alone and dejected from their current CR. This will take place December 9-13th.

On the 9th she will heavily start to feel even more alone, and steadily throughout the days she'll start to fade. Her feelings will mostly go from feeling isolated and to wanting more. Despite these feelings, she will reach out. In game she has tried for some time to find her place here (hence why she is almost always in the welcome log with tea) so there is that sort of searching feeling, almost a restlessness. By the 12th or so, Annie will realize what this is, the fading and needing to find her reasons, and she will try and reconnect with some of those who she is close to here. So that's basically the solution.

What does this mean for your character?

There's a simple opt out of not feeling so alone or not experiencing these emotions or just not fading for those that don't wish to be involved. But for those that are feeling separated from those close to them, alone, or purposeless, slowly they will start to fade as well. Their simple solution is to reconnect to those close to them by doing whatever they need to do, have that talk they've been avoiding, cuddle session, whatever. This is also a good opportunity to gain more cr with others who are feeling lonely or just in general.

Everything will go back to normal on the 13th once Annie has her own personal realizations.

Mad didn't even begin to cover what Annie was feeling. It was more of a 'how dare them' along with severe disappointment. She was already so tired as it was. She had been through an emotional roller coaster, killing what she considered her daughter. It was over now. It was supposed to be anyway. The only bright spot of this was that she did get to see Mitchell again. It was the bright spot in this.

But her? Who gave the right to say what she did was a sin? She killed because if she didn't, innocent people would have died. Millions of innocents would have been rounded up. More vampires would have been made, more blood. She already felt guilty as it was, but Eve showed her a bleak future, and she had already lost so much.

What was worse was the powers they took from her. She was nearly human, and while she could hide behind that facade, something she once would have longed for. Now she only just felt isolated and defenseless, something she hadn't felt in a very long time. It would jeopardize her existence if it wasn't for the fact that she did have friends around her.

Her bright spot. Mitchell, Hal, and even Alex, the girl she had just started to teach. Focus, Sawyer. She needed a plan, something to make her focus. First thing was seeing how settled Mitchell was. There was still something-- off about him. This denial to him. She couldn't describe it, but she knew that it would only lead somewhere else if he didn't keep himself in check.

Same with Hal. How is he? Does he need any dominoes? What's his routine like. She may be trying to micromanage their lives from here, but she knew out of any of them those two would have the highest dents to pay. So no matter what hers was, she needed to help them.

So they could get back. If she had a piece of paper and was making a list, that would be at the top, underlined and circled. Underneath would be what she would think needs to go under it, steps that need to be taken.

Ugh, now she could see it in her mind's eye. She would never get sleep tonight. In a moment Annie was up and at the kitchen, starting a pot with water for tea. Need a good cup to start organizing a way home, something important like that. It put her at ease.
